This year Kofi Siriboe and Common opened the 10th Annual Essence Black Women In Hollywood Event by paying homage to phenomenal black women impacting the entertainment industry.
This year four extraordinary black women were honored for their contributions to the entertainment industry, Aja Naomi King of “How to Get Away With Murder”, Yara Shahidi of “Black-ish”, Janelle Monae of “Hidden Figures” and Issa Rae of “Insecure.”
We had a HUGE success curating, Starlettos inaugural event in the US and West Coast, which highlighted our brand being exposed to a select group of celebrity talent, tastemakers and trendsetters to experience the new staple in stiletto heel protection. Every attendee had a one-on-one opportunity to engage with the product, by placing Starlettos to save their stilettos, as they walked on multiple surfaces from pavement to grass flawlessly. The functionality, assortments of colors, one size fit all and its ability to be used multiple times was a highlight of conversation.
The event took place on Thursday, August 13th in the breathtaking Swan Lake gardens of Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air. The daytime affair was filled with a diverse group of fashion. Guests enjoyed savory preparations by chef Wolfgang Puck. An assortment of sweets followed with some signature Hotel Bel-Air international teas.
Celebrity and influencer guests included: International Artist Simonna, Singer Carmen Johnson, Designer Jazmin Whitley, Actress Aeriel Miranda, MTV personalities Shelby Yardley, Brittany Baldi, Stylist Andy Gabler, Actress Jodie Smith , Social Influencer Karisma Collins, Blogger Daphne Blunt, among others. The event culminated with a grassrunway “Walk Off” in Starlettos.
