Actor Kofi Siriboe adds another hit film “KICKS” to his burgeoning career and attends the world premiere at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival. The film, is a coming of age urban tale about fifteen-year-old Brandon (Jahking Guillory) longing for a pair of the freshest sneakers money can buy. He soon finds the shoes have instead made him a target, after they are promptly snatched by local hood Flaco, played by Siriboe. Kofi’s dynamic portrayal of Flaco’s outward menacing behavior, flawlessly hides the level of complexities of his character, which is revealed as the story unfolds. Siriboe’s memorable adaptation, along with the performances from his stellar fresh face cast, visually delivers a rich experience into the discoveries and harsh realities of inner-city youth with the sneaker culture.
Joined by the film’s director, Justin Tipping, Kofi engaged with the audience for a Q & A offering an authentic viewpoint, of what it means to be a young black man in today’s society. Received by positive reviews Siriboe says, “I am beyond elated to finally have the opportunity to share my work in this wonderful film “Kicks” with audiences across the country. I am really thankful for our writer/director Justin Tipping, my fellow cast mates, our producers and Focus Features for giving me the opportunity to create Flaco artistically ”
